Blogging in the classroom

I've had some experiences with blogging in the classroom. I had a class blog in two of my history classes last year and found that sometimes I was having my students use the blogs for the sake of using the blogs. I find that I haven't gotten enough training on how to use it in Social Studies. I would like someone to come and show me a way that people use blogs in the Social Studies with a purpose so that I have a reason for having the students be on the blog.

I would love to have rubrics or assignments that people use around blogging in history. I have a hard time translating science or math blogging activities into my own ideas for my class.

  2. I like the selection of blogs that you have for your own perusal. I will be on the lookout for assessments of blogs. One place to start looking is at ncrel and rubistar is another.
